How are you all doing? Having fun during the holidays? Or getting bored already?

Well, I really can't wait for another year with you guys to start! I know we've been through some rough times and I've been sorta a bitch sometimes but hope you guys understand xDDD I'm a bitch by nature.

Hope that all of you guys are having fun in singapore/overseas/back home and really enjoy yourselves over this holiday break! Have to rest up before next year which I hear is really tough!

And if you guys haven't noticed, the tagboard is becoming spammed with... spam. So yeah. Should we change the tagboard? I can make a new one. Haha if nobody replies I think I will anyway.

Anyway, just here to say that I've enjoyed this year in 309 and hope we make many more happy memories together in the classroom and outside for class outings or whatever. Had tons of fun and hope next year will be as fun :D

heylo 309!

so here's all the class tee designs we have so far!
if you'd like please submit your own design;
we're a lit-art class so all you art people!
get to work and design something boomz please.
(ironically all the current designs are from lit people.)

basically the only requirement for the tee is that,
the design should have a m10309 or m11409 on it.
if you want you can have hot pink,
or japcats or jimmy justice or whatever.

send in all designs to m10309pwns@gmail.com,
or preferably send them to me at russmsoh@gmail.com,
and i'll put them up here for everyone to see.
we'll have a mini-voting session in class one day,
during mentoring so ms k and ms lau can vote too.

of course we'll do a touchup of the selected design,
like changing colours and editing prints and all that,
before officially sending it in to manufacture.
take the following designs as a rough preview,
of what the real class tee will eventually look like.

and yes i am working on some designs of my own too.
but those will come up later because they currently suck.
oh yeah you can click on the pictures to enlarge them,
if you haven't figured that out yet.

i've submitted two of my own designs.
they're designs #9 and #10 which are less class tee like;
i designed them so they'd look more like normal clothes.

this is Edith reporting from SAS. =)

everything has been going quite awesomely so far.

I have straight As and everything....so far.

although it's been just a month and I'm kind of scared that things might go badly

especially since I have a bio test in ELEVEN MINUTES

and I still don't understand whatever nonsense about ATP I was supposed to.

also the cafeteria is kind of weird, but it has a Subway, so I'm not complaining. =)

also there are bake sales sometimes and I buy brownies.

also I have math homework I am going to chiong at break. =/

xinai and julia,
are you guys alright with buying meat?
you can get all of it from mmmm,
the place you did your english advert on.

we could also get some potatoes,
corn and capsicums to roast.
(balanced diets are important!)
anyone wanna volunteer to buy?

preferably someone living in the east,
so that noone has to lug veggies on the mrt,
then your parents/guardians can help transport the veggies,
when we begin the barbecue.

also we'll need a place to store the meats,
so preferably someone with a big fridge,
with parents/guardians who can drive,
and is also preferably in possession of some charcoal.

speaking of which,
can someone volunteer to bring paper plates and such?
like disposable spoons and forks and all that.

then take bus number 196 to ecp.
reach ecp at approximately 1015.

finish getting our bikes by 1030,
and cycle around until about 1330.
return bikes and settle admin by 1340.
decide on an eating place by 1345.

eat lunch from 1345 till 1445.
walk to the bowling place by 1455.
settle bowling stuff by 1505.
play our first game until about 1535.

settle second game payment by 1540.
play our second game until about 1610.
leave the bowling place by 1615.
go over to the pit to get ready at 1620.

dump charcoal and start fire by 1635.
start official barbecuing at 1640.
cook first batch of food by 1700.
start eating first batch at 1705.

alternate eating and barbecuing until 1755.

anyway students of 309 and staff teaching 309 are welcome to attend.

I am doing quite okay at SAS, which has

a) scarily short uniforms, I kid you not, which could get into a feminist critique of uniforms and how they force conformity to various standards, but I already have to do homework and can't spend the energy.

b) TOO MUCH HOMEWORK

c) nice teachers

d) almost as fail an English course as NUSH, from what I've seen so far

e) much better history

f) tasty mol. bio classes

g) lots of unhealthy and generally delicious food but

h) an intimidating cafeteria

i) troublesome lockers

j) reasonably friendly people

k) did I mention homework? I have to go do English.

I promised some people I'd post here about my new school, so...here goes!!

orientation was today.

played some random orientation games. there are a lot of girls called Hannah and Katherine and Hailey and Caitlin and Abby.

then proceeded to run around to all my classes and meet my new teachers with my peer support buddy. Math teacher is intimidating, English teacher is from New Zealand but sounds like she has one of those posh educated British accents, Physics teacher is very animated, Bio teacher seems fairly normal and outgoing, Art teacher is generally awesome but intimidatingly outgoing....(yes, they are pretty much all outgoing. so odd.) History teacher seems more interesting than current History classes. odd accent, though. Drama teacher (Ms Meyer, like Twilight! xD) old-ish with white hair and a biiiig smile.

then saw the cafeteria. there is a Subway IN SCHOOOL.

unofficial rules like 'don't sit on the upper floor of the cafeteria, it's for upperclassmen.' booo.

went home, went to tuition, met up at half-past-six for orientation pizza party, which was kind of random and kind of fun. there was a pool, some people were swimming.

overheard dialogue:

"There aren't any towels..."

"You should just blow me 'till I'm dry."

made several friends, conversed with several other people, am beginning to understand the preexisting friendships and stuff.

splashed around in the baby pool and went home. ^^

in case anyone was wondering, there are barely any cute guys and a lot of cute girls. just saying.

Hi all.

As you probably already know, I'm leaving NUSH, and I'm sorry for not telling most of you earlier.

But before the farewell party and all, and before I part ways with the majority of you, I think I ought to say thank you. I want you all to know that for all the nonsense and lack of noise and alleged lack of class ~~bondage~~ bonding, for me at least, 309 was absolutely the best part of being at the school, and for that I can't thank you enough.

I'd like to thank you all for the completely hilarious ACM skit, for helping out with the class decoration, for being unpredictably predictable and vice versa, for this blog, for even bothering to come up with the idea of a farewell party (or so I'm told), and for generally being awesome.

I'm serious. I can't emphasize this enough. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME.

And out of everything at the school, again, I'm going to miss 309 the most. I'm going to miss being part of the aesthetics committee, and those projects where I mysteriously end up doing over three-quarters of the work, and all those failed attempts to get people to be just a little bit noisier, and hanging coke cans out of the window, and pretty much everything really.

So, well, it's been awesome. Thanks for everything.

woohoo!
on monday we had our first class outing.
i must say that it was a fantastic success.
seventeen out of twenty-two people came.
(the massive amounts of recount is for teachers' benefit,
so if mslau or anyone asks,
"how was the 309 class outing?"
we could tell them to read this and save our energy.

so cycling was fun right?
we basically went around for about two and a bit hours,
braking and breaking every few minutes or so,
and kept taking photos.
my chain kept screwing up every few minutes in the last part,
though.
(thanks julia for 'fixing' it!)

lunch was kinda cool too.
burger king noms.
(now you may applaud julia,
for drinking 32oz of ice lemon tea in fifteen minutes.
-clap clap clap ketchup clap-)
then we took more photos,
and discussed how quiet we were,
as compared to the iron-lung children yelling their butts off on the other side of burger king.
hmmm.

then we had bowling and played two games!
(now you can applaud all the people who got strikes,
and goi's epic method of bowling.
also applaud chenyue's two random strikes please!
-much clapping to be heard-)
i failed badly so meh.
but it was fun yes?

after bowling we went around aimlessly,
looking for a karaoke place only to find it closed.
blargh.
so we went to the beach to build stuff.
it started as a sandcastle and randomly became zuowei's tomb.
hahahahahaha.

so at the end of all this we were left with eleven people,
who all took the mrt home.
almost everyone was visibly sunburnt,
i was lobster-esque.
and still am actually.

(i've left out too many details in here.
someone please write another post with all the random jokes and such thanks.
hahahaha fail i am.)

now i'm too tired to talk about today's fieldtrip to the discovery centre.
let's just say we discovered stuff,
and stuff discovered us.

today was the last official day of the semester.

we survived through half the year.
and come to think of it,
we've already spent a quarter of our time together.

we could join translation competition too,

After due deliberation, I have concluded that, uh, we don't have enough photos.

Really.

I've checked Facebook and I can't seem to find any photos that aren't from CCA/ with non-309 friends/ from last year.

As far as I can tell, the class email has only received one email with five photos, which is far, far better than nothing- thank you, Nikki!- but not quite enough.

Thus, I'd like to ask everyone to take as many photos as possible during the post-exam activities, so that we can have enough for a 3-4 minute tribute video to our first semester.

=)

Also, the music; there has been one suggestion so far, and that's Paramore. I think.
If you agree, disagree, want to request a specific Paramore song or a completely different song altogether, please let us know via the tagboard.

And I know there are some photos, so Wang Bo, if you're reading this, please send in all your art project photos with even minor relevance to 309.

due to epic fail weather predictions,
global warming causing erratic weather patterns,
and other miscellaneous nonsense,
the class outing has had major change in plans.

Hi all!

Some of the aesthetics committee has been thinking about making a Semester 1 Photo Montage.

We can try and convince Ms Lau to show it during a mentoring session or something.

And although it's a rather random idea,

it's been an awesome semester!!

In the short span of these two terms, we've gone from relative strangers to an absolutely epic class, and we think we should appropriately commemorate the past one quarter of our time together as a class.

At least half of the year is, at any rate.

Anyway regarding Russell's May the 27th post:

Exams are over and the class outing is somewhat settled (person in charge, you may want to start arranging the time).

Replacing pins should take no more than half an hour and is (should be) relatively easy.

As for the class tee, I believe no design has been settled on (right?) We might want to give that some consideration.

About class unity - I have no idea.

Two more things-
Has anybody bought An her birthday card yet? Her birthday was last month on the 30th.

And, the notice board is apparently going to be graffiti-themed. Has the design been settled on, and will we do it before or after the June holidays?

just some updates on class outing.
take note so on the 14th everything will go nicely.

so,
after the mothertongue script checking,
which ends at 12.30,
everyone is to go and change into their normal clothes!
note we're going cycling so wear something light.

at 12.50 meet at the concourse to leave for clementi mrt.
mslau will probably meet us so we can leave for lunch together.
we'll walk to the station.
(it could be quite hot, if you can bring a small umbrella.)

at the station we'll eat some stuff,
(i think there's a small-ish japanese place that's quite cheap there.)
then around 1.30 we'll go off for cycling.
we'll reach pasirris at about 2.30.

at pasirris station we'll go take the bus ____ (what number?? check!!)
we'll rent our bicycles,
and cycle our butts off until around 6.30.
then we'll sit around,
maybe have some food,
so on and so forth.

to infinity and beyond! via cycling, of course.

Admittedly, I'm an ex-204-er, and to my knowledge we never really had a working class blog.

But I've been bored today
and have been reading through other classes' blogs- to name a couple, 202 and 207- and I was thinking, why not try to make this somewhere that will make a difference to us as a class? Even if it's just to leave something behind in cyberspace for years after we've forgotten it, like a message in a bottle, just to show how awesome we were while we lasted.

Too depressing? we're between 1/8 and 1/4 done with our time together as a class. We know each other, we get along; most of us, I'm sure you'll agree, are epically awesome. Yet we haven't had a single class outing, we're relatively quiet and reserved, and even when we're getting along it's just laid-back and, well, quiet.

I don't know about all of you, but I want 309 to be the epic-est class I was ever in. I want us to bond (insert 'class bondage' joke here), I want us to laugh together, I want us to argue, I want us to trust each other and agree to disagree. Maybe we could start with eating lunch together, loosening up a little, planning a couple outings; maybe we should try taking pointers from other classes. I just think we have an opportunity here to be epic-- (I'm repeating myself, I know)--and I for one will never forgive myself if I let myself just pass it up.

this is too general an issue to be solved by just reviving a blog, of course, but it's a start.
If you're reading this, and you even have five minutes of spare time, and you're part of 309--just post. It can be random, it can be the song you're listening to, it can be your opinion on anything from homework to Chen Yue. I just think we're shortchanging ourselves if we don't at least give this a try.

As a matter of fact, I have to ask something from you....A friend of mine is working on a statistics project, and has unfortunately called in a long-standing favour I owed her...so now I'm in charge of getting 20 girls and 20 guys from NUSHS Year 3 to complete a few questions.
